Program Overview & Guidelines

The concept is to provide structured, yet casual opportunities for families to learn and play the game of golf together. The intent of this effort is to cultivate and perpetuate golf as a regular family recreation for all participants.

All PGA or LPGA Professionals are welcome to offer Family Golf Month programs. Host Professionals / Facilities are asked to consider offering the following Program Elements:

• Family Golf Clinics
  • One to two hour clinics, could include:
    • Orientations
    • Instruction
    • Skills contests or mini on-course experience
  • Make it a fun – family event!
  • Should be complimentary
  • Market “Family Play Days” and other next step programs
  • Suggest hosting series of at least two “Family Golf Clinics”
• Family Play Days
  • Family Scrambles: up to 9 Holes
    • Family Golf Tees
    • Family Golf Rules
    • Family Golf Score Cards
    • Suggest shot-gun start
  • Make it a fun – family event!
  • Families register and play together for a nominal fee
  • Market other next step programs
  • Suggest conduct at least every other week throughout the season
